Happiness Be With Us All Year Round

The four-leaf clover becomes, for Fan Zhen, a symbol of luck, love, and good fortune. Four purple leaves converge at the centre, where a green light emerges as a point of energy, evoking both the unexpected arrival of luck and a vital force radiating from within.

The four-part structure also recalls the cycle of the seasons and a desire for harmony and fulfilment. Rather than carrying a fixed meaning, the image remains open: a form through which the artist reflects on encounters, possibilities, and those unexpected moments that can transform everyday experience.

Fan Zhen

Fan Zhen lives and works in Beijing. Her painting practice explores the relationship between inner experience and the external world through an abstract language rooted in Chinese thought and aesthetics. Her study of the I Ching and interest in spirituality inform a practice in which colour, material, and rhythm become tools for perception and introspection. Across different series, her work addresses transformation, memory, and reconciliation with oneself and the world, extending in her more recent works to themes of love, luck, and blessing.
