Claire Lindner develops an artistic practice deeply connected to the organic world and to living forms. Working with glazed stoneware, she creates sculptures with sinuous, intertwined, and biomorphic shapes that simultaneously evoke vegetal, animal, mineral, and bodily elements, without representing them in a literal way.
Movement, growth, metamorphosis, and colour are central to her work: her forms seem to expand, coil, or sprout, questioning the boundaries between solid and fluid, natural and artificial. In this way, ceramic matter becomes almost an autonomous organism, suggesting a profound continuity between all forms of life.
Claire Lindner was born in 1982 in Perpignan, France and she currently lives in Languedoc-Roussillon, France. Lindner is an up-and-coming artist currently becoming a prominent figure in contemporary ceramics.
She equipped with a solid higher education in fine arts acquired in France and in London’s renowned Camberwell College of Arts.
Since 2006, Claire Lindner's sculptures have been featured in prestigious exhibitions, including Contemporary French Scene at the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris (2011), Le Banquet at the Grand Palais in Paris as part of the biennial Revelations (2015), and Homo Faber at the Fondazione Cini in Venice (2024).
Her works are included in important public and private museum collections such as: Sèvres and Limoges National Museums, France; Musée Magnelli, Vallauris, France; Ateliers d'Art de France, France; FLICAM, Fuping International Ceramic Art Museum, China; Museum of Beaux Arts, Châteauroux, France; Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum, Gyeonggi, South Korea; World Ceramic Exposition foundation, Icheon, South Korea.
