Ápeiron | Senza confini is the preview of a new exhibition project conceived by the Gallery of Modern Art Achille Forti in partnership with ArtVerona. The project stems from a desire to stimulate new interpretations of the civic collection of contemporary art through an open and experimental format that fosters a dialogue between the works and contemporary languages.
Moving between visual art, performance, sound, and installation, Ápeiron seeks to reflect upon the complexity of the present, addressing themes such as identity, representation, belonging, social justice, environmental sustainability, memory, and history.
For this inaugural stage, hosted at Palazzo Forti, three significant works from the collection have been selected and reinstalled to engage in dialogue with the exhibition The Then About As Until. These include: Il canneto (The Reed Bed, 1965) by Eugenio Degani, Untitled #139 (1984) by Cindy Sherman, and Scomposizione IV (Decomposition IV, 2000) by Italo Zuffi. These works are emblematic of their ability to transcend traditional art boundaries, expanding into space and perception, and offering a contemporary reinterpretation that mirrors the dynamic and interdisciplinary spirit of the Ápeiron project.
The official inauguration of the whole exhibition is scheduled for October 2026 in the mezzanine spaces of Palazzo della Ragione, dedicated to the contemporary sector, following the conclusion of the currently running series CONTEMPORANEO NON-STOP. Il respiro della natura series.
