RAR - Residenza Artistica Rurale

a project by Marta Ferretti and Daniele Girardi, promoted by Careof, in collaboration with Musei Civici di Verona - Museo di Storia Naturale, ArtVerona, Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona, Azienda Agricola Domenico Fraccaroli, under the patronage of Regione del Veneto, Comune di Lavagno.

Conceived for the spaces of the Museum of Natural History in Verona, the installation Processi di domesticazione espansa was created as a direct result of the RAR Residenza Artistica Rurale Prize, a project to enhance territories and rural culture through the languages of art awarded to the artist Luca Petti represented by Galleria Marrocco and Villa Contemporanea gallery during the 2021 edition of ArtVerona.

The award, curated by Marta Ferretti and Daniele Girardi, is promoted by Careof in collaboration the Civic Museums of Verona - Museum of Natural History and a network of partners including ArtVerona, Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona, Azienda Agricola Domenico Fraccaroli. It also enjoys the patronage of the Veneto Region and the Municipality of Lavagno.

Borrowing the control stations on stilts used in the past to survey the vineyards and ecosystems in the area-from wild plants to animals-the artist subverts the traditional hierarchy of power that sees humans at the top and builds a new device inhabited and directed by hybrid creatures.
