Ruben Brulat (1988, Laudun, France) is a visual artist who lives and works in France. Using his own body as the starting point for his work, Brulat has created numerous pieces employing techniques from photography, sculpture, and painting. His practice draws inspiration from the fragility of the human body in contrast to the primordial forces of nature. Brulat explores our relationship with the organic self through a dialogue between the human body and wild landscapes. His work interacts directly with these environments, seeking a resonance with the places he discovers while walking. In this way, he reveals a shared essence between human beings and the non-human world. In his works, the body emerges as vulnerable
yet resilient, immersed in solitary landscapes shaped by a primordial and unspoiled nature. The volcanic landscapes captured on Mount Etna, in the Danakil Depression, and in Indonesia evoke a confrontation between humanity and the forces of the Earth, in a dialogue between the wild and
the human. These works reflect Brulatâs search for a deep connection with the natural environment, evoking ancestral rituals and symbolism linked to spirituality.
